As I was saying.....When I say African American Galleries in American Art Museums I am speaking of  showing off our great artistic tradition (1619 to present)  That is what museums do- put together a collection of galleries to show off the contributions of the art of people of different ethnicities, cultures, from all over the world, throughout history. Is there even one Art museum in this country that has an African American art gallery to exhibit the art of African American people??? Why is… Continue

Looking for information about artists

My husband and I found this print and have been trying to find out information about the artists Kevin W. Dillard and Kim W. Dillard '94. Searches on the internet did not turn up any information.  We'd appreciate information about the artists and other work.

P.S.  The picture was taken with my cell phone camera and, unfortunately, there's a reflection of the flash.

(That was 2 years old) Now a few decades later, I am still concentrating on all the things Everyone else thinks I should instead of what is in my Heart! What God has given me. An Artist! So my concentration will Switch!!

I'm shedding negative people, negative thoughts and situations!! (Work in progress) Looking only towards Positive, Artistic applications.  Praying for that direction…

Our Main Challenge

Our Main Challenge is to have American art museums recognize the value of including African American Galleries as a separate genre in American art museums. Until this happens Black artists, to say nothing of, Black Women Artists, including Black People, do not have a ghost of a chance to become a viable part of American art history and or the American art world.

Until I can appear at a Museum of Contemporary Art and go to the Gallery of African…

For me, this also means reflecting on the progress I’ve made fulfilling a promise to build a house for an impoverished family. Although the location of the house build was initially “up in the air”,…
