Brooklyn Renames Block For Famed Framer/Art Collector Lawrence Dorsey

Brooklyn Renames Block Where Famed Black Art Collector’s and Framer’s Gallery Thrives After 40 Years

By Milford Prewitt

Rogers Ave. is an unremarkable 2.6-miles that cuts through central Brooklyn in a long string of Mom-and-Pop restaurants, some professional service offices, beauty salons, squat apartment buildings from the 1920s and 30s, and store-front churches.

What makes its humdrumness bearable is that with its…

Break FREE

Reality of a future

Consumed with misconception

Beliefs taught transformed into discourses

Passed from generation to generations

Desires of a fantasy never to be fulfilled

Sorrow overwhelming, impact of a bomb

Numbness in the body, the brain, then the heart

Eyes lost in hopelessness

Once embarked on a journey

Failure succeeds in its endeavors

Break free from this control

Social, economical, political, religious,  etc

Break free…

MENSTRUAL LAW

MENSTRUAL LAW

A woman’s relationship to her body is regulated by menstrual law in the seclusion rites.  Her relationship to sex, food, behavior, sleeping, clothing and make-up are all determined by the sacred blood right of woman’s menstruation.  At the end of seclusion, which ends at the first light, the taboo woman is frequently carried by a group of Mothers to the…

Working on an interesting project with Kevin Barry Arts Associates. (An interior design firm) Its a project in Pentagon City near the Pentagon (TOP secret...lol). Been going back and forth for a few months now with concept drawings and details. Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians with this project but it seems to have finally worked it self out. Will post as i start to build it. DOD (Department of Defense)
